(December 11, 2014) Brooklyn, New York – Yesterday, The Allure Group commemorated Human Rights Day. This day was specially established to recognize all human rights activists and to help promote human rights worldwide. December 10th was chosen as the official Humans Right Day because of the significant role this date has played in human rights history. On December 10, 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights doctrine was adopted by the United Nations. This international cooperative recognition of the necessity of uniform doctrine to protect human rights has laid the groundwork for later activists to successfully advocate for better human right laws both domestically and internationally.
The ceremonial establishment of Human Rights Day occurred on 4 December 1950, at the 317th Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly, when the General Assembly declared Human Rights Day as an international holiday. The day is normally commemorated with political conferences and meetings and other events about human rights issues. Furthermore, on this holiday, United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights and Nobel Peace Prize are awarded. Many governmental and civilian organizations active in human rights awareness schedule lectures and exhibitions to celebrate the day.
“The Human Rights issue is an important concern that effects every human being. We applaud all those who make it their life’s mission to advocate and fight for human rights not only in the United States but internationally as well,” says Melissa Guglielmo, Chief Operating Officer at The Allure Group.
